All projects are open to youth from 18 to 30 years from EU Member States and Iceland, Republic of North Macedonia and Turkey.

Placements for long-term ESC projects in Matera starting from October 2022 – for 6 or 9 months:

Short-term description of HC2019
The Human Capital 2019 project involves 4 different flows of 2 months of short-term EVS volunteers in groups of 6 people. Activities are going to be linked to events organized or co-organized by Basilicata Link, and managed by the Fondazione Matera-Basilicata 2019.
General description of the activity for the short-term volunteers of HC2019 project:
– supporting events of any kind (preparing spaces, welcoming visitors, re-settle after the event)
– information point (give information to visitors, learn and then share information and give visibility to events happening on the street and inside the space of Fondazione 2019)
– support for guided tours through exhibitions (using language skills, giving information, learning about various topics)
– give visibility to HC2019 project and Erasmus+ Program through specific moments of promotion (give ideas, organize and realize actions like Flash Mobs)
– realize information days about volunteering abroad and ESC projects and Erasmus+ (give ideas, organize and realize actions)
Hosting Dates for 2019 (might change for max 5 days earlier or later!)
1st flow: 15 February to 15 April 2019
2nd flow: 20 April to 20 June 2019
3rd flow: 25 June to 25 August 2019
4th flow 30 Agosto – 30 Ottobre 2019
The first flow will be hosted from 15 February to 15 April 2019 and specific activities are going to be:
- Support of the one-month event of “Circus”, which is an event organized by Fondazione Matera-Basilicata 2019 which realizes a circus show from Thursday to Sunday all weeks between 15 February and 15 March. The volunteers will help to prepare the space, welcome visitors, explain the event to visitors, settle the spaces, support the artists in their needs and requests, welcome the artists and show them around the city.
- Support of the opening of the exhibition of project leader Casa Netural “Mammamiaaa”.
Preparation and mounting of the exhibition, welcoming visitors, preparing spaces, translations for visitors and artists, support for visibility of the exhibition with the invitation of visitors and information on the street. - Support the opening of the exhibition and event of Il Teatro dei Sassi, with the project “Secretissima Camera dello Core”.

The volunteer will receive, as it is rule for EVS, food money and pocket money, travel support money, EVS insurance by Cigna, support from mentors and tutors and a basic Italian course.
Working hours: The volunteer will work about 30 – 35 hours a week, for 5 days a week. It will be necessary to work on weekends, so during the week, there will be days off. The weekly program will be shared with the volunteers at the week start but can change due to changes in requests for support and help.
The hosting of the volunteers is still under construction, might be in a family or in an independent flat. Update soon.
Criteria for selection:
– never done EVS before;
– speak well English language or Italian language;
– sociability and interest to be in touch with people of any kind;
– interest in arranging events, putting personal ideas and executing ideas of others.
– EU countries only (not possible to host volunteers from Turkey, Russia or North African Countries)
It is requested to be flexible and adapt to situations and changes in the program.
